The Ashenfelter 8K Classic (A8K) is a United States Track & Field-NJ
Championship Road Race which is open to everyone... walkers, joggers,
runners and racers. The race is produced by the Glen Ridge Educational Foundation. This traditional Thanksgiving Day running event will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2013. The 8K (4.97 miles) will begin at 9:00 AM and The Tom Fleming Mile will begin @ 8:15.

To date, the Ashenfelter 8K Classic has raised over $100K. Since 2005 the main beneficiary has been The Glen Ridge Educational Foundation, a not for profit 501(c)3 organization.
A8K NEWS! THE TOM FLEMING MILE
This year will mark the inaugural first running of the Tom Fleming Mile which replaces the "Ridger Romp one Mile".... It's time to recognize Tom Flemings outstanding contribution to the sport of long distance running and to honor him with a race named for him. Tom grew up in Bloomfield lived in Glen Ridge for many years and his (former) wife Barbara still lives on the A8K course. Tom is known for his 1973 & 75 NYC marathon wins and had a personal best time of 2:12:05. Earlier this year, Tom was inducted into the American RRCA Distance Hall of Fame. The 1 mile race will offer the same amenities as the A8K, that being a T, chip timing and awards.
Race Day Registration and Pre-Registered Race Packet Pick-up will be at the Glen Ridge High School, 200 Ridgewood Avenue, on Wednesday, Nov. 27nd from 5-8 P.M. and Race Day beginning at 7:00 A.M.. T-Shirts are limited to the first 2,200 pre-registered runners.
Sizing is on a first come, first serve basis.
RACE PACKET PICK-UP
Race packets can be picked up beginning 5
PM Wednesday evening, or if you prefer 7:00 AM Thursday morning at the Glen
Ridge High School's Gymnasium. Please try to get there early.
POST RACE BREAKFAST AND AWARDS CEREMONY
The post race breakfast will be held in the High School Gymnasium, where runners will be able to stay warm and dry pre and post race. The post race awards ceremony will be held in the gymnasium.

Commemorative A8K Classic Coffee Mugs to the top 100 male and top 100 female finishers.
